New Stuff

For those of you waiting in anticipation for my book album: I got permission to release its title. Marked by Passion.

The cover for Marked by Passion finally came in too. The back cover blurb and first chapter liner notes are all up—make sure you take a sneak peek. It comes out at the end of January, but that's not as far away as one might think. Trust me on that.

Oh—if you want an email when it comes out, sign up for my newsletter. Do it. I'm gearing up to send one out. Yeah, I know I haven't sent one in ages. What of it, punk?

Ahem. Sorry. I forgot myself for a moment. I'm okay again.

Have I mentioned how much I hate writing newsletters? Sigh.

On other fronts... My golf game is getting pretty good. I know you guys have been wondering—maybe even sending out happy thoughts in my general direction to help me with my swing. It's working. Keep it up.

And, lastly, Nate still has his robe. Because I know some of you were concerned.

I'd say I'm sorry, but I'm not really. I've been writing my little heart out. To put it into perspective for you, I've written about 250 pages in two weeks. Maybe more. I've got no words left in me—not even for a birthday card much less a blog post.

The good news is I'm done with the bulk of my revisions, and I'm taking a break for a couple days. I should be back, fresh and ready to blather, next week.

What are the revisions for, you may wonder. Well, allow me to tell you (in case you don't check out the news area every month). We accepted a two-book deal from Grand Central (formerly Warner) for a paranormal romance series I cooked up. The first book, MARKED, will be out June 2009. It's about an artist and the mystical Chinese scroll she inherits.

You'll love it—trust me. It's a little dark, a little kick-ass, and a lot sexy. I'll post a snippet of the first chapter soon—stay tuned.

Pushy, But Cute

I was sick all last week. The kind of sick where I couldn't move my fever-ridden carcass off the couch for five days. The kind of sick where, when I answered my phone, the person on the other end immediately exclaimed, "You sound terrible."

The thing about being sick that long: you get used to people being at your beck and call. For instance, the second you need Gatorade, someone runs out to fetch some for you. Need a movie put into the DVD player? Whimper a little and someone will run to accommodate. It can go to your head a little. Next thing you know, you're starting to dispense commands over your blog.

No, I'm not going to ask you to buy Gatorade. But I am going to remind you to vote. It's your privilege. Do it.

I'm also going to ask you to check out two new books from friends of mine. Killing Fear by Allison Brennan and Master of the Highlands by Veronica Wolff. Two very different stories by two very talented ladies.
