Katy, Craft, and Cameras
I don't have anything to say this week. Not really anyway. I thought about doing a manifesto about the importance of respect, but I'm feeling too mellow to really work up a rant. And then I thought of detailing a few things going on in my world, but they'll unfold in the next few weeks anyway. And I already blogged about Charo...
Ohby the way... I'm still not Katy Perry. Yeah, still getting email asking for song lists and info on where I buy my sunglasses. Sigh. I even added a "I'm not her, I'm me" blurb to my contact page. I'm not sure how much clearer I could get.
So, back to this blog topic issue. It might be time to do a craft-y postsomething for you aspiring writers out there. Anything you'd like to hear about in particular? I'm going to do a bunch starting in a couple months about the process of having a book releasedfrom the first draft to the final version on the shelvesso maybe something with a less business-ended focus. Characters? Dialogue? Motivating to write? Tell me about your needs.
You know what I need? A digital camera. Because then I could take pictures of random people I meet and then blog about them. Like the guy who joined us on our round of golf yesterdayhe was certainly a freaky piece of cheese. I'm picturing short little character study interviews. Maybe. I think it'd be fun. We have a camera but I can't find the USB cord to download the pictures onto Rodrigo (my laptop).
So add that to the "What to Get Kate" list. Right next to the tutu.

lol. I know all about that growing list of things to get. I think your blog topic stuff is perfect. Me, I often find myself stuck on trying to round out a character. What I'm currently working on, there's this one character that's not a main character, but still needs to be recognized, and for the life of me, I always have problems trying to figure out just how much detail I need to get out. I'd say that's my biggest problem. And dialog would be my second. I always feel I have to have someone talking. lol. *hits head on desk* btw, did you name your laptop that or is that a brand? lol Rodgrigo sounds like some foreign stud who should be bringing me margaritas on the beach.

That's the spitting image of Rodrigo in my head. (Rodrigo is named after the guy who played Carl in Love Actually--HOT.)

Ditto. And he can talk to me in his accent too. I love how he says "complications" in the movie. Mmmm mmm. *hot flash*

You guys are odd. I know--this is where you say "But, Kate, *you're* the one who named your laptop Rodrigo." To which I'd reply, "What-ev, dudes."

lol. We're not odd, we're... UNIQUE. lol. how many times have I heard THAT as an excuse. hehe. Oh well. You can keep Rodrigo. lol. I'd happily name something after Johnny Depp. Hubba hubba.

What is this world coming to and you dont have to tell the world how you kissed a girl. You kissed a girl and your an idiot, why dont you try singing about that

Excellent idea, Matt! I'm composing the song right now about an idiot girl--one who wears boots with her tutu. And I'm dedicating it to you, dude. (I've decided I can't beat them, so I'm just going to play along.)
