Earnest Eyes and Gratitude

Posted on: February 17th, 2016 by Kate Perry

I woke up this morning with thoughts of gratitude… And of hot Canadian mounted police with earnest blue eyes.

The mounty with the blue eyes was inspired by Netflix. My sister-friend Michelle and I stayed up late last night watching “When Calls the Heart.” I’d never watched it before, but I’d read it a long time ago. My grandmother and I used to read¬†Janette Oke¬†together when I was a teenager. Great books, and the series does them justice.

The thoughts of gratitude are because of my family, all my sisters (blood and of the heart), and my friends (which include you). I’m so lucky to have all of you. I’d squeeze you in my arms right now if I could.

I also woke up with so much hope and enthusiasm for the future. DANCING ON A MOONBEAM, Part 2, is officially finished and off to the presses, and I’m starting Part 3 tomorrow.

Confession: I’d lost my excitement for writing. The last couple years, I was happier “having written.” Each writing session was like torture, where I struggled for every word. It was an unhappy state of being.

But I’ve found the thrill again. My heart’s bursting with the joy of it.

My heart’s full with love, period.
And I’m sharing it with you.
